The cross-border turnover of funds carried out through the banking system of the Republic of Abkhazia in 2023 in ruble equivalent amounted to 143.0 billion rubles, which is 19.3 billion rubles (15.6%) more than the same indicator in 2022.

The inflow of funds into the Republic of Abkhazia through the banking system amounted to 70.2 billion rubles, the outflow of funds from the country - 72.8 billion rubles. Thus, the cash flow balance had a negative value of RUB 2.6 billion.

The structure of the cash inflow through the banking system of the Republic of Abkhazia in 2023 was as follows:

• to accounts of legal entities, individual entrepreneurs and individuals opened in credit institutions of the Republic of Abkhazia - 40.7 billion rubles;
• operations of Russian bank card holders in the APRA NPS infrastructure – RUB 20.6 billion;
• transfer of Russian financial assistance to the budget of the Republic of Abkhazia for the purpose of socio-economic development of the Republic of Abkhazia, implementation of budget investments, support for investment activities, etc. - 5.2 billion rubles;
• Russian pension receipts – 3.4 billion rubles;
• transfers through money transfer systems – 0.3 billion rubles.

In 2023, the main payment currency was the Russian ruble, which accounted for 96.2% of the total volume of cross-border transactions, the US dollar - 3.2%, the rest - (Turkish lira, euro, Chinese yuan, Indian rupee) - 0.6 %.
